Hi, I'm Shalea... but my friends call me Carl.

I was supposed to be a boy, so my parents picked the name Carl, after my mom's favorite uncle. Well... I showed up very not a boy and so they pivoted and gave me the middle name CARLette. The nickname stuck and "Carl" has followed me ever since.

The best part isn't the name — it's the man behind it. My Uncle Carl eventually became my favorite uncle too. He had this incredible ability to make people feel like they were the only person in the room. More importantly, he made me feel seen. He never made me feel like I was too much, too different, or too weird for thinking the way I did. That's shaped the way I approach people, business and marketing ever since.

I'm a New Mexico native with Irish roots, so I come by my sass and stubbornness honestly.

For the last 10 years, I've helped businesses grow through digital marketing, strategy, and finding their voice on social media. I believe the best marketing doesn't chase trends — it builds trust, tells a story, and gives people a reason to care.

I love Jesus, occasionally (VERY occasionally) say the f-word, can spend hours talking sci-fi and will defend Fight Club as one of the greatest movies ever made. I'm married, a proud mom to four grown boys and convinced that being yourself is still the best marketing strategy there is.
